Estonia set to join Eurozone

The European Commission says that Estonia – a Baltic republic of 1.3 million people – can adopt the Euro from 2011, the BBC reports.

Financial support offered to Greece

Eurozone members have made a commitment to providing up to €30bn in loans to Greece over the next year to help stave off a debt crisis that has roiled financial markets and posed the most serious challenge to the euro in its history.

The debt crisis in Greece is a threat to the Euro and to other European economies and a package of loans has been offered by European leaders.
